Include Elizabeth May in the 2015 Leaders' Debates!

Leaders' debates that exclude Elizabeth are missing an important voice for democracy. Over 80% of Canadians in a recent EKOS poll said they want Elizabeth included. Add your voice to protest!

Canadians want and deserve to hear the Green Party Leader Elizabeth challenge the other federal leaders in the Globe and Mail, Munk, and TVA debates, too.  Globe and Mail and Munk Debates need to hear from Canadians that Elizabeth is needed. Sign our petition below, sign the Green Party of Canada petition too, and write or email:

Adding insult to injury, Mulcair's refusal to participate in the televised National Broadcasters’ debates is a clear attempt to shut Elizabeth May out. These are the debates that will be seen by at least 14 million Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Change.org has a petition to sign asking all leaders to participate.

"Democracy is worth fighting for" (Elizabeth May, Green Party Leader).

Elizabeth May would liven any debate.

She is well informed and an excellent speaker.

That is probably why she is not wanted by Harper.

Elizabeth May threatens the incumbent Conservatives because she articulates a balanced, logical, science-based point of view and holds those whose policies are not beneficial to a majority of Canadian voters responsible for their undemocratic actions. Stephen Harper is not sufficiently armed to combat her formidable debating skills and will do all possible to avoid this confrontation.

The rationale for recent exclusions from Globe and Mail sponsored debate is all wrong. The Green Party is a National party, whereas the others with only one or two members are solely Quebec-based.

Not including Elizabeth May in all the debates is yet another disgusting example of fear, manipulation and control between Harper and biased media neocon friends like Globe and Munk.

I would have expected more from Mr Mulcair than to remain silent about this. They are obviously worried about including Elizabeth May. It’s amazingly and shockingly undemocratic.

Elizabeth May is a major force. That’s why the leaders don’t want her included. Get over it you guys!

It is a democratic right that Elizabeth May be allowed to particapate in all debates. The people want to hear her views. Harper is a big scaredy cat and is afraid that Elizabeth will call his bluff.

Elizabeth represents the voting intentions of more than a million Canadians. 28% of Canadians would consider voting Green. A legitimate and democratic debate is only possible with her inclusion.

I am particularly disappointed in Tom Mulcair whom I thought was interested in democracy in all instances. That h, of all people, would move to deny Elizabeth’s opportunity to speak and the voters from hearing her voice, is repugnant,
