Unfortunately I was not able to attend and very much appreciate being to watch the recorded event online. It was good to hear the Rt. Hon. Joe Clark speak of the evolution of how parliament has evolved to this much deteriorated system of government and parliamentary procedure. Obviously he was careful and reserved in how he chose to speak about highly controversial issues created by the current Harper Regime that has discouraged and outraged many Canadians including myself. He did however make some pointed comments regarding the Omnibus bills which is a good example of how parliamentary debate and procedure is totally ignored as well as advising that Canadians vote for a candidate who supports the original purpose and power of real parliamentary procedure as opposed power being centralized in the PMO and the party thereby effectively reducing or eliminating authentic representation of an elected federal member of parliament even if a member is this horrific PC party.
I deeply admire, respect and support Elizabeth May who for the first time has helped to restore some faith and hope that it’s possible to restore good government and that there are a few good decent, very capable people in parliament with Elizabeth without question being in a whole class and calibre far above anyone I have met in parliament especially it seems these days. Having become somewhat familiar with the halls and characters in parliament in the 70’s and 80’s, Elizabeth is a real breath of fresh air and her awards and recognitions are well deserved. May she and the Green Party continue to exert tremendous hope and enthusiasm for a return to sane, meaningful, just and respectful system of government that Canadians can all be proud of. Thank you Mr Clark and Elizabeth and all the staff and volunteers.

Joe Clark has grown wiser and puts forth positive ideas on how to bridge the gab of different ideas and views as to how we as Canadians can become more united and stronger. It is well worth the time to listen to his speech.
